Tough Boots to Tackle Tough Jobs

They said, “Hey, great coffee!”

We said, “Thanks! Great boots!”

And just like that, a friendship and partnership were born. 

OK, that’s not exactly how it happened, but it’s close. Mutual admiration and a chance meeting last year at an industry convention got the ball rolling. Now we are so proud to say that Rocky Boots has become the official boot of Fire Dept. Coffee.

The reason is simple. Rocky Boots makes an amazing product. Their boots are proudly worn by outdoorsmen and hard-working, men and women all around the world. The boots are tough, durable, and comfortable. They're a true American success story making boots for hard-working men and women for the last 90 years. And they look good too!

Though Rocky boots are worn for all sorts of jobs, we love the fact that they have a line of boots specifically for firefighters and other first responders. Rocky’s Code Red boots are NFPA rated and made to stand up to the heat — and everything else — that firefighters put them through each day.

Many members of our team have been wearing Rocky boots for years. Yet as much as anything else, we love that Rocky Boots is a company committed to giving back to the community.

A Family Brand Focused on Communities

Rocky Boots was founded as the William Brooks Shoe Company in Ohio way back in 1932. Over the years, it’s been sold out of the family and bought back into the family. In 1979, the Rocky brand was established to reflect the hardworking footwear that the company was known for.

Today, Rocky Boots falls under the larger umbrella of Rocky Brands, which also features household names like Durango, Georgia Boot and the Original Muck Boot Company. 

Rocky Brands’ core values of Integrity, Responsibility and Humility perfectly align with our own family values. The Nelsonville, Ohio-based company has created the Rocky Community Improvement Fund, which has raised hundreds of thousands of dollars to make a lasting impact on their region.

The RCIF is focused on awarding grants that help a variety of programs dedicated to building stronger communities. The endowment raises funds through employee donations and various fundraising events.

Giving back is at the core of Rocky Boots and Rocky Brands, and it’s at the heart of what we do at Fire Dept. Coffee.
 

These Boots Are Up for Any Challenge

Some of the firefighters on our team have been wearing Rocky Boots for years and swear by them. They want a hardworking pair of boots when they’re fighting fires or responding to emergency calls. 

We’re also wearing Rocky Boots when were shooting your favorite videos. You might have noticed that we wore them recently on a little trip to Jobtown.

We wore them when we made a high-leverage save from a stubborn refrigerator.

Though he was not exactly wearing them, FDC Director of Brand Relations Randy was still using them when he needed his coffee but the last mug was gone.
