Fire Dept. Coffee Salutes Our Heroes on Veterans Day

We salute them. We applaud them. We raise our mugs.

To U.S. military veterans around the country and across the globe, today we say, “Thank you!”

Veterans Day is an opportunity for all of us to pause for just a moment and be grateful for the men and women who have stepped up to serve our nation and protect our freedoms. In times of peace and in times of conflict, Americans have always known that we could count on our military to protect us.

Those who have stepped up to serve our nation represent the best of us. They’ve endured difficult training, separation from their families and, when necessary, risked their lives. That’s the job they signed up for.

It takes a special person — and we are grateful for each and every one.

Fire Dept. Coffee Supports Veterans All Year Long

It’s no secret that the Fire Dept. Coffee Foundation’s mission is to give back to ill or injured first responders. But we also look for opportunities to support veterans in need.

Veterans Day hits close to home.

Without the U.S. Navy, There is No Fire Dept. Coffee

Luke Schneider joined the Navy because he wanted to serve his country. He also knew that it would be the perfect training ground for his ultimate dream of becoming a professional firefighter.

In the Navy, they say “every sailor is a firefighter.”

Yet, damage controlman are the select group of specialists whose sole job is to fight fires and put a stop to any number of other potential catastrophes. That’s the job Schneider signed up for when he joined the Navy in 2004.

His time in the service ultimately helped him achieve his goal of becoming a professional firefighter, but it also ignited his love for coffee. He drank cup after cup to keep him mentally sharp on the long shifts that his job required.

After he entered the fire service, his love of coffee only grew. It kept growing until it became Fire Dept. Coffee.

So you see, we owe a special debt of gratitude to the U.S. military.
