Could this Be the End of Pumpkin Spice Coffee?!

Fire Dept. Coffee doesn’t make any pumpkin spice coffee.

We can’t bring ourselves to do it. 

Pumpkin spice cereal. Pumpkin spice cookies. Pumpkin spice crackers. Pumpkin spice hot chocolate. … And, of course, pumpkin spice coffee.

But not from us. Sorry? No, not really. 

We’ve never been the type to blindly follow the crowds anyhow. In fact, you can expect this response when we’re asked about pumpkin spice:

More than that, we’ve gotten the sense that an increasingly significant number of people are simply burned out on pumpkin spice everything. A survey of 500 Americans told us as much. And that survey was taken in August, before the onslaught of the pumpkin spice season.

More than 1 in 3 (37%) of Americans surveyed said they were already tired of hearing about pumpkin spice. One out of every 10 people admitted to having an actual argument with a family member over their views of pumpkin spice coffee. Another 10% said they would actually consider breaking up with their partner over differing views on the merits of pumpkin spice.

We couldn’t live with ourselves if we knew that 10% of our customers couldn’t enjoy their Fire Dept. Coffee because they were too busy arguing with their loved ones about pumpkin spice and/or spices in the roast.

We don’t want to be responsible for shattered relationships and broken hearts, not with the cold nights of winter just around the corner.

But we’re sitting out this pumpkin spice season. After all, that same survey did reveal that pumpkin spice isn’t even America’s favorite fall flavor. 

That honor goes to … apple pie.
